For those looking to invest in real estate stocks, highly recommended is the Dr. Housing Bubble blog. In a recent posting, the "Dr." pointed out that there was a "Lost Generation" when it came to household income. That has not happened for those investing in staffing industry stocks such as Paychex (NASDAQ: PAYX), Robert Half International (NYSE: RHI), TrueBlue, Inc. (NYSE: TBI), and Labor SMART (OTCBB: LTNC).

! When looking at small cap stocks, it is useful to compare the company with others that have expanded in both share price and size. For those considering investing in the $100 billion staffing industry, the growth of TrueBlue (NYSE: TBI) shows what could be the potential path for Labor SMART (OTCBB: LTNC), as both operate in the $29 billion demand labor sector. Other firms have done well in the staffing industry include Paychex (NASDAQ: PAYX) and ManPower Group (NYSE: MAN).

Even though the stock market rallied on Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's remarks with the Dow Jones Industrial Average (NYSE: DIA) and Standard & Poor's 500 Index (NYSE: SPY) surging, the long term winners will be stocks in the staffing industry such as Paychex(NASDAQ: PAYX), TrueBlue (NYSE: TBI), Robert Half (NYSE: RHI), and Labor SMART (OTCBB: LTNC).

When a car adds 22% to an automaker's overall sales in the U.S., a lot of responsibility falls on its shoulders. The car in question is Honda's (NYSE: HMC  ) Civic. The company released the 2015 Civic with the hope of reviving sales in the U.S. market -- from January to November, Honda has sold 2.1% fewer Civics than in the comparable 2013 period. Laden with new high-tech features, the latest version has received rave reviews from critics, but against the backdrop of falling oil prices, is Civic's unique selling proposition of fuel economy its biggest enemy?

Shizuo Kambayashi/APChild seats, manufactured by Takata, displayed at a Toyota showroom in Tokyo. DETROIT -- Takata Corp. defied a U.S. safety agency's demand for a nationwide recall of driver's side air bags, setting the stage for possible legal action by the government and leaving some drivers to wonder about the safety of their cars. In a Tuesday letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration obtained by The Associated Press, Takata said its own data and testing support limiting the recall to high-humidity areas, such as along the Gulf Coast. A Takata official repeated those claims Wednesday morning at a hearing before a House subcommittee. The air bag's inflators can explode with too much force, spewing shrapnel into the passenger compartment. At least five deaths and dozens of injuries have been linked to the problem worldwide. Under pressure from lawmakers, the U.S. safety agency on Nov. 26 demanded that Takata and a number of automakers broaden a recall of driver's side air bags to all 50 states. At Wednesday's hearing before a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee, an executive from Honda (HMC) said the automaker would expand its recall nationwide. Honda is one of Takata's biggest customers. So far automakers have recalled about 14 million vehicles worldwide for Takata air bag problems, including 8 million in the U.S. A nationwide recall would add 8 million vehicles to existing recalls, Takata said. Up until now, cars were only being recalled in high-humidity areas in Florida, Hawaii, along the Gulf Coast and in some U.S. territories. Takata has maintained that prolonged exposure to airborne moisture can cause the inflator propellant to burn faster than designed, causing it to explode with too much force. A number of c! ommittee ! members expressed concern that the limited nature of the recall was confusing to consumers outside of the current recall zones. Rep. Jan Schakowsky of Illinois, the panel's senior Democrat, said she's rec

allOver images/Alamy Electric-car maker Tesla (TSLA) reported a loss of $74.6 million for the third quarter, double its loss of $38.5 million for the same time a year ago. Tesla attributed the loss to increased expenses to meet the rising demand for the Model S Sedan, as operating expenses rose to $291 million. The company lowered their forecast for deliveries of the Model S Sedan by 2,000 vehicles, to about 33,000 vehicles for 2014, citing delays in a planned revamp of a factory. Forecasts for deliveries in 2015 remained the same. Overall, sales rose to $932 million compared to $603 million in the first nine months of 2013. The introduction of the Model X crossover is now projected for the third quarter of 2015 -- one quarter later than last announced -- coming on top of several other delays in the past year-and-a-half. Tesla's challenge is not demand, but rather production capacity issues, which account for the postponement in delivery time. Cash fell to $2.4 billion from $2.7 billion at the end of the second quarter, due to capital expenditures and the operating losses noted above, while expenses for Research and Development rose 28 percent in the third quarter. This earnings release follows the earnings announcements from the following peers of Tesla: Daimler (DDAIY), Ford (F), General Motors (GM), Honda (HMC), Toyota (TM) and Volkswagen (VLKPY) Highlights Summary numbers: Revenues of $ 851.8 million, Net Earnings of $ -74.6 million and EPS of $ -0.60. Advisors' Opinion:

For the first time since going public in 2002, consumer debt purchasing specialist Portfolio Recovery Associates (NASDAQ: PRAA  ) announced today it is going to split its stock and will do so by a three-for-one ratio.

  • [By Roberto Pedone]

Portfolio Recovery Associates (PRAA) is engaged in the business of purchasing, managing and collecting portfolios of defaulted consumer receivables, as well as offering accounts receivable management and payment services. This stock closed up 3.8% to $54.53 in Monday's trading session.

    Monday's Volume: 629,000

    Three-Month Average Volume: 435,! 466

    Volume % Change: 50%

From a technical perspective, PRAA jumped higher here and broke out above some near-term overhead resistance levels at $53 to $54.62 with above-average volume. This move also pushed shares of PRAA into new 52-week-high territory, which is bullish technical price action. If this breakout holds, then shares of PRAA could be setting up to trend significantly higher.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in PRAA as long as it's trending above Monday's low of $52.71 to $52 and then once it sustains a move or close above its new 52-week high at $54.93 with volume that hits near or above 435,466 shares. If we get that move soon, then PRAA will set up to enter new 52-week-high territory, which is bullish technical price action. Some possible upside targets off that move are $60 to $65.

The other good news is on pages 10, 11 and 15. Delinquencies are rising, as are collections. If debt balances increase, you would expect delinquencies to rise as well. That bodes well for the big-time players in debt collection, Portfolio Recovery Associates (PRAA) and Encore Capital Group (ECPG). Both just reported robust growth in collections, revenues, and net income. They’re also making large international acquisitions. I love both companies and think they’re are undervalued.

Top Healthcare Technology Companies To Buy Right Now

The first half of 2014 was a weak time for durable goods orders, but then came July and, with it, a 22.6% increase in those orders for big-ticket items.

Aircraft orders got credit for much of the jump, and I have found no company that better illustrates that than Boeing Co (BA), which had only a handful of orders for its biggest jets in the first half of the year, then witnessed a virtual explosion of more than 300 orders in July most of which were for Boeing larger aircraft.

Boeing price per share is $126.80, down from its high of $138.10 in January of this year but still significantly higher than where Boeing stood more than five years ago, in March of 2009 ($33.49).

Boeing still seems to be struggling to find buyers for its 787 Dreamliner, a long-range, wide-body jet capable of carrying 210 to 335 passengers. Last month, two customers pulled out of deals for nine of the 10 early models of the jet.

Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By John Udovich]

The biotech sector has been pretty exciting this yearwith small cap biotech stocks Prana Biotechnology Limited (NASDAQ: PRAN) and TNI BioTech (OTCMKTS: TNIB) having recently produced noteworthy news for investorswhile Acceleron Pharma, Inc (NASDAQ: XLRN), Ophthotech (NASDAQ: OPHT) and BIND Therapeutics (NASDAQ: BIND) have justset term sheets for their upcoming IPOs. Just consider all of the following recent news:

  • [By Roberto Pedone]

Another under-$10 biotechnology player that's starting to trend within range of triggering a major breakout trade is Prana Biotechnology (PRAN), which researches and develops therapeutic drugs for the treatment of neurological disorders in Australia. This stock has been crushed by the bears so far in 2014, with shares off huge by 69%.

If you look at the chart for Prana Biotechnology, you'll notice that this stock recently formed a double bottom chart pattern at $1.90 to $2 a share right above its 50-day moving average of $1.84 a share. Shares of PRAN have been consolidating and moving sideways above its 50-day for the last few weeks. This stock is now starting to spike higher today right above those near-term support levels, and it's quickly pushing within range of triggering a major breakout trade above some key overhead resistance levels.

Market players should now look for long-biased trades in PRAN if it manages to break out above some near-term overhead resistance levels at $2.22 to $2.35 a share and then above some past overhead resistance at $2.47 a share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above those levels with volume that hits near or above its three-month average action of 1.98 million shares. If that breakout triggers soon, then PRAN will set up to re-test or possibly take out its gap-down-day high from April at $3.24 a share. Any high-volume move above that level will then give PRAN a chance to re-fill some of its previous gap-down-day zone that started at $10.30 a share.

Traders can look to buy PRAN off weakness to anticipate that breakout and simply use a stop that sits just below its 50-day moving average of $1.84 a share. One can also buy PRAN off strength once it starts to move above those breakout levels with volume and then simply use a stop that sits a comfortable percentage from your entry point.

It’s a slippery slope when you start placing bets based on a company with no marketable product, and a lead candidate that’s only in Phase 2 trials. But, Prana Biotechnology (PRAN) may be one of those cheap stocks within the drugmaking world that’s worth the risk.

Considering Eli Lilly & Co. (NYSE:LLY) as well as a co-development project between Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) and Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) both failed in semi-recent effort to develop a similar-functioning Alzheimer's drug, it would be easy to assume that particular route towards an Alzheimer's might be the wrong path to take. Sometimes though, a small tweak or a seemingly-minor nuance with the underlying problem can make all the difference. Enter Prana Biotechnology Limited (NASDAQ:PRAN). Though the company acknowledges its focal point on the development of an Alzheimer's therapy is the same broad premise that ultimately led LLY, PFE, and JNJ to failure, PRAN may have found the proverbial missing link.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Netflix's videos are streaming through Comcast's Internet service at their highest speeds in 17 months, thanks to a recent deal that bought Netflix a more direct connection to Comcast's (CMCSA) network. The data released Monday by Netflix (NFLX) may become another flash point in a debate about whether the Federal Communications Commission should draw up new rules to ensure that all online content providers are treated the same by Internet service providers. The equal-treatment doctrine, known as Net neutrality, has become a thornier topic since January when a federal appeals court overturned the FCC's regulations on the issue. Net neutrality is also drawing more attention as Comcast tries to gain approval of its proposed $45 billion purchase of Time Warner Cable (TWC), another large Internet service provider. As the world's largest Internet video subscription service, Netflix has long supported Net neutrality as a way to prevent online service providers from giving better treatment to websites willing to pay additional fees for the privilege. Nevertheless, Netflix agreed in mid-February to pay an undisclosed sum to Comcast Corp. to create a new avenue for its videos to reach Comcast's service. Netflix previously had been paying third-party vendors such as Cogent Communications Group (CCOI) and Akamai Technologies (AKAM) to deliver its content to Comcast. Some analysts suspect Netflix may be saving money by paying Comcast directly instead of the vendors, but the specifics remain unknown as part of a confidentiality agreement. The arrangement clearly seems to paying off for Netflix subscribers who are among the nearly 21 million households and businesses that rely on Comcast's high-speed Internet service to watch movies and television shows. Comcast delivered Netflix video at an average rate of 2.5 megabits per second during March. That was a 66 percent increase from a recent low of 1.51 megabits per second in January. The March perform

Advisors' Opinion:

Trading can be a quirky game sometimes. Most of the time, news - or at least loudly voiced opinions - tend to result from or be the cause of a fast-moving stock. Every now and then though, as in the case with MER Telemanagement Solutions Ltd. (NASDAQ:MTSL), a stock can build up steam with little to no news linked to that move. That doesn't make that stock a poor pick, however. Indeed, MTSL looks like it's turning into a homerun, and that alone is worth a look.... and maybe even worth a shot.
